At Queen's we offer a free after school Mandarin Club for Year 5 children attending primary school in the local area:

The club runs on a Tuesday 4-5pm at the Senior School from January 22nd 2019.

Pupils have a snack and a drink before they start their activities and follow an exciting programme of language and cultural activities throughout the year, all geared to their specific age group.

Highlights have included learning the Mandarin for fruit and vegetables and celebrating the dragon boat festival, the Autumn festival and Chinese New Year.

We tailor our activities depending on the experience of the pupils and the specific interests of the Chinese Hanban teacher.

We also run a variety of one-off workshops and longer-term Chinese culture and language teaching in a variety of primary schools in the local area and also tour with our dragon to celebrate Chinese New Year.  He has spent many hours travelling the roads of the North West!

If you wish to find out more information about any of our outreach, please contact our Head of Languages, Lynnette Ketchell  or our Confucius Classroom Manager Lucy Whittam.
