The Sixth Form Open Evening is a chance for current Queen's girls and prospective sixth formers currently studying at other schools to get a real sense of what it would be like to study for A-levels and Pre-U qualifications at Queen's.
The Sixth Form at Queen's draws on the huge academic talent of The Queen's Senior School but differs in many ways; teaching and learning is much more collaborative and students are encouraged to develop their independence through activities, taking on responsibilities, volunteering and independent research.
The format of the evening involves short talks from The Queen's School Deputy Head (Curriculum), Head of Sixth Form and current pupils who have either joined us from elsewhere or been at Queen's for their whole school career. Their differing perspectives can often be enlightening.
Prospective students and parents will have the opportunity to then tour the Sixth Form facilities and meet the Heads of Department in order that they may have a better understanding of the subjects they intend to pursue at A-level.
Information will be available on careers advice, support for applications to competitive courses as well as our Queen's School Baccalaureate and the curriculum enrichment opportunities this presents.
The 2019 event is on Thursday 17 October but girls are always welcome to arrange a time to come and see the school at their convenience. We can arrange taster days to give you a real experience of sixth form life. If you would like any further information please contact our Admissions Officer on 01244 312078 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the meantime, you can sign up to our monthly newsletter which will let you know of all up and coming events which may be of interest.
