We took part in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust’s first ever webinar recently.
Students from Years 9, 10 and 11 were introduced to modular arithmetic, a beautiful and powerful way of thinking that is important in number theory, and more broadly in mathematics, computer science and cryptography.
The girls explored multiplication tables, looking for patterns and structure, and tried to answer some previous UKMT questions connected with modular arithmetic.
