Our Year 12 students enjoyed a team building induction to Sixth Form on a residential visit to Anglesey recently.
The girls took part in a variety of outdoor and classroom based activities at the Conway Centre, aimed at introducing them to their new tutors and each other.
On Friday the girls took part in Forest activities including assault courses and construction tasks which tested team work and concentration. The girls were able to get familiar with their new tutor groups and learn about their own strengths and areas for development. They then headed into the classroom to look at the attributes and skills needed to be a successful sixth former.
Following some classroom activities on the Saturday around the expectations of sixth formers it was time to get stuck into the next construction task – raft building! The girls had to rescue team members from a boat moored on the Menai Strait as well as three hapless teachers who had been abandoned in a sinking canoe.
Head of Sixth Form Mr Robin Wilson said: “This residential is always an effective way of getting the girls to think about the strengths they already have and the skills they need to develop to deal with the challenges of Sixth Form. The attitude of all the girls was superb with everyone getting involved in all the activities and most importantly having lots of fun!”
