Girls' musical charity initiative raises hundreds

Last Saturday, eleven Year 12 girls hosted a Charity Concert in aid of Save the Family at Chester Rugby Club. It was a night filled with seven amazing acts from various schools including The Queen's School, King’s School and The Grange. Performers donated their time to raise money for this worthwhile cause.

Ticket sales, raffle prizes and donations raised over £1,500 and the girls were overwhelmed with the support they received from family and friends on the night.

As part of their volunteering option within the QUEST Programme, the girls travelled to Save the Family’s Chester site and learnt lessons around safeguarding, the causes of homelessness and the fundamental roles of the charity. They then organised this event with support from the charity.

A huge 'thank you' to everyone who donated, attended and performed on the night.

Well done to Maddie, Natasha, Carmen, Eve, Megan, Erinna, Jasleen, Thea, Katherine and Eleanor.

And well done to Years 7,8 and 9 for completing their three week sponsored read (launched on World Book Day) in aid of the Read for Good charity.

We raised £300 which will go towards providing new books for children in hospital.

Congratulations to Anoushka in Year 8 who took the prize for most books read during the sponsorship period.
