Results & leavers' destinations

The Queen's School regularly ranks highly in all national academic league tables and is one of the leading schools regionally for academic performance. We are extremely proud to be the top-performing girls' school in the area.

The Lower School academic results are also exceptional, and such is the quality of teaching there that all girls are given automatic entry into the Senior School.

However, impressive as exam data and league tables are, they are far from the whole picture. We add tangible value here at Queen’s. All Senior School pupils are independently tested at the start of their GCSE and A-level courses and set predicted grades, based on their understanding of the subjects and ability to express themselves. Thanks to our tailored approach to learning, many of our pupils outperform these initially projected grades by quite some way. It is likely then that some of our top-performing pupils would not have achieved their excellent results had they studied elsewhere.

Every year Queen’s pupils achieve some of the best A-level results in the country. The school’s A* rate is excellent and girls go on to study at prestigious universities on very competitive courses both in the UK and abroad. Our GCSE results are also consistently outstanding.

Two turbulent years in education due to the coronavirus pandemic did not disturb the hard work and determination of our Sixth Form students.

2020 and 2021

Positive attitudes and determination during two years of exam disruption due to Covid-19 ensured our students continued to achieve outstanding results at GCSE.

Despite having to navigate around a new way of being assessed and all of the challenges that came with it, the girl’s determination, commitment and hard work paid off.
