The Time-Traveller’s Guide to Chester 2025

Our latest Saturday Series event, The Time-Traveller’s Guide to Chester, transported pupils in Years 4 and 5 back through time for a morning of immersive activities in History, Geography, Drama and Classics.

The girls explored the outbreak of the Black Death, mapped how Chester has changed over time, and uncovered the Roman roots of our city. They even designed their own Roman goddess linked to the River Dee, and brought moments from Chester’s past to life through imaginative drama and role-play.

As one of only a handful of schools in the North West still proudly offering Classics as part of our academic programme, The Queen’s School is committed to inspiring curiosity, creativity and a love of learning across a broad curriculum. Events like this help pupils develop critical thinking, empathy, and confidence, while getting to know the school, staff and each other in a fun and relaxed environment.

The Saturday Series is a two-year programme designed to make the transition from primary school to The Queen’s Senior School smooth, exciting and enriching for everyone involved.
