Volunteering can go hand in hand with A-level studies. You can get experience with a voluntary group that complements your school work, or it could be something entirely different, which will broaden your horizons. By engaging in voluntary work, you will demonstrate to employers and universities that you are capable of taking on a commitment, that you are reliable and that you have an interest in their community. We work closely with the Chester Volunteer Bureau, which provides information on volunteering opportunities in over 160 organisations in the Chester area.

The Year 12 enrichment programme 'Quest' gives girls the opportunity to opt in to a ten week volunteering experience. Girls spend their weekly Quest afternoon within a voluntary or not for profit organisation giving their time to the community or cause while gaining valuable experience and building workplace skills.

In recent years girls have volunteered in a wide range of organisations including schools, hospitals, charity shops, churches, National Trust properties and animal charities.

“The girls were both a credit to themselves and the school. They were consistent in their time-keeping and attendance, displayed maturity beyond their years and engaged in a naturally positive manner with our service users.”
