The Queen's School has been at the forefront of technological innovation in schools for a number of years and both parents and girls have told us how much they value this.
To this end, and following a period of research, trial and training for all staff, individual iPads were introduced for all students in the Senior School (Years 7-11) in September 2014. This provision was increased still further for use in Y12 Sixth Form lessons in 2015. Since September 2016, all Senior School year-groups (Years 7-13) have utilised iPads.
This exciting move to iPad usage is one that has been undertaken in a number of forward-thinking schools and so far the feedback has been positive from pupils and teachers alike. A full rationale is available with the answers to some helpful ‘Frequently Asked Questions’.
In order for us to continue to keep fees to a minimum and to be fair to those many students who already own their own devices, the iPads will be purchased by parents. We offer the opportunity for parents to participate in an interest-free assisted buying programme over the course of two years to give value for money and make the purchase more affordable.
The iPad was chosen over other competitor devices for its long battery life, inbuilt features, high level of security and the availability of excellent free teaching and learning apps.
We are very excited about the opportunities presented by this technology for your daughter, but if you have any queries please read the information below. However, if you are still unsure about something please do not hesitate to contact our IT Director, Paul Foster firstname.lastname@example.org
