Enriching Experiences

At Queen’s, we believe that education extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. Our commitment to providing a holistic education is reflected in our broad co-curricular programme and diverse range of educational trips and visits. These opportunities play a crucial role in nurturing well-rounded individuals, equipping them with key skills for their future.

Co-Curricular Programme

Our extensive co-curricular programme includes sports, drama, and music, offering numerous activities throughout the academic year. These activities culminate in competitions, fixtures, productions, and performances, providing our girls with platforms to showcase their talents and hard work. Beyond these, we offer a wide array of academic, creative, and wellbeing clubs, such as astronomy, debating, women’s history, ancient Greek, and young entrepreneurs. These clubs offer engaging and interactive ways for girls to deepen their learning in a relaxed, informal setting, fostering collaboration and peer learning.

Scheduled during lunchtimes and after school, these clubs are led by teachers or Senior School pupils who have a passion and expertise in their subjects. Our programme evolves based on the interests of our pupils, with new clubs frequently added as pupils propose fresh ideas. Many girls take the initiative to establish and run clubs themselves, honing their organisational skills, confidence, and leadership abilities.

For those seeking additional academic support, subjects like science, languages, and maths offer top-up lunchtime sessions. These clinics are invaluable for pupils across all years, providing tailored assistance to help them excel.

Educational Trips and Visits

Our educational trips and visits further enhance classroom learning, offering pupils of all ages opportunities to explore and engage with the world around them. Weekly trips to theatres, museums, and local and regional sites of interest bring subjects to life and enrich the curriculum. These visits not only deepen subject understanding but also allow our girls to interact with boys and girls from other schools and organisations, developing social skills and broadening their perspectives.

International trips to destinations such as China, Africa, America, Latin America, and Europe are organised several times a year. These excursions provide our girls with invaluable experiences, immersing them in different cultures and expanding their global awareness. Meeting people from diverse backgrounds helps to cultivate open-mindedness and a deeper understanding of the world.

Our focus on offering a wealth of opportunities ensures the early identification and nurturing of talent, while also supporting the development of all our pupils. Participation in co-curricular activities and trips cultivates critical skills such as teamwork, leadership, resilience, and cultural competence. These experiences empower our girls to think independently, collaborate confidently, and aspire globally, aligning with our core values.

At Queen’s, we are dedicated to nurturing confident, successful, and happy individuals who are well-prepared to lead and shape the world they live in. Our commitment to holistic education through a rich co-curricular programme and diverse trips and visits is central to achieving this vision.
