Community Connections

At Queen’s, we take great pride in our responsibility to give back to the community. Our pupils and staff actively participate in regular fundraising events, outreach programmes, and partnerships. We believe that by helping others, we can truly understand ourselves and this commitment fosters confidence, a sense of community, justice, and fair play. Girls at Queen’s experience the joy of achieving fundraising goals, making a difference, or simply bringing a smile to someone’s face. This, in turn, reinforces their understanding of effort and reward.

Charity Endeavours

Pupils throughout The Queen’s School are deeply involved in charity fundraising events, supporting a wide range of causes both locally, nationally, and globally. Each year, through our Heads Girls’ Team and House system, we organise and participate in activities and events proposed by the pupils. Our charity work extends to:

  • Local Volunteering: Pupils volunteer in care homes, charity shops, and participate in the sixth form ‘Q-Elevate’ programme, collaborating with local charities such as Save the Family and SHARE.
  • International Projects: We are engaged in a long-term project with Soko Primary School and Chongi Secondary School in Tanzania, aiming to raise funds and visit over a period of 4-8 years. This unique opportunity provides our pupils with insight into Tanzania’s challenges and culture, allowing them to see the meaningful impact of their efforts.

Collaboration and Support

Our outreach programme, ‘Synergy,’ offers boys and girls from local primary schools the chance to participate in specialist language and science activity sessions at Queen’s. We are also collaborating within a partnership hub of local primary schools, aiming to run workshops and events across various curriculum areas to enrich learning opportunities for both pupils and staff.

We proudly host an annual Model United Nations event, QMUN, at Queen’s for schools across Cheshire, Wirral, North Wales, and Shropshire. Additionally, we enhance our pupils’ language-speaking opportunities by partnering with a local specialist language school and make our facilities available to them during school holidays.

Community Engagement

Our pupils regularly perform at local community events, festivals, and concerts, including special performances at Chester Cathedral and local businesses. Our artists contribute their work to local businesses, and we maintain strong relationships with residential homes through shared projects that involve pupils of all ages.

We are fortunate to have many staff members who regularly participate in charity challenges, from building schools in Africa during summer camps to participating in charity swims and runs. Their dedication and enthusiasm inspire our girls to undertake their own charitable efforts.

At Queen’s, our commitment to community connections underscores everything we do, ensuring our girls grow into compassionate, confident, and community-minded individuals.
