School was visited recently by a reviewer from the Good Schools Guide, an independent consultancy known for its quirky and, at times, controversial opinions on a range of schools, so we opened our doors with a little trepidation!

I spend many hours throughout the year reading with (and to) my wonderful Year 2 pupils, and to be able to support and witness their reading progress – from dogged decoding to vibrant fluency - is one of the great joys of my job.

I don’t particularly follow football, my children are both rugby players and I focussed on athletics and netball myself, but it is hard not to be swept up by the almost romantic notion of a non-league team winning or just reaching the FA cup final.

We are sorry to announce that Miss Jane Chowen, former teacher and headmistress of Nedham House, passed away peacefully at Upton Dene Residential Home on 30th April 2019. Any donations in her memory to The Queen’s School Bursary Fund are gratefully received
