The 18 members of Queen's Young Voices who competed at the Chester Festival were in fine voice and in the first class won convincingly against Rydal Penrhos, gaining a Distinction mark of 88.

They sang 'Love grows here' and 'Silver trumpet' and the adjudicator was impressed by their lovely blended sound, breath control and energy.

In the second class, although there was no competition, the girls again sang beautifully, this time being awarded 89 marks. They performed 'Scales and arpeggios' from the Aristocats followed by 'Can you hear me' including signing for the deaf. These were both enjoyed by the adjudicator and the audience and the girls matched beautifully clear words with actions.

We were delighted to bring the two trophies back to Queen's for another year!
