An extremely successful week of tennis began with games against Loreto Grammar School in Altrincham for our Year 9 and 10 girls in the AEGON competition. The girls drew in both the singles and doubles matches, but won overall after a nail-biting tiebreak game!

Our Year 9 girls put in some impressive performances against King’s, winning 13 games, drawing two and losing just one.

The U15 Chester and District tournament was a great opportunity for so many of our Year 10 girls to take to the court! We had eight doubles pairs with Queen's winning everything on offer! Congratulations to:

• Plate runners up: Phoebe and Philippa
• Plate winners: Jess and Saskia
• Cup runners up: Cara and Amelia
• Cup winners: Jaz and Abby

Congratulations to our Year 7 rounders team who beat King’s 8-4.

Our Year 8 team also played really well with determination and won 14-4.5. Well done girls!

Congratulations to Becky in Year 11 who is now playing waterpolo as a Senior for Liverpool. She played recently at Rotherham in the Northern Water Polo League Joint Area Tournament where they won two out of their three matches, beating the English Roses!
The next round is on Saturday 16th June again at Rotherham where she will be playing against Sheffield and Tyldesley.

As well as taking part in National Academy training as part of the Swim England U17 squad she has also received an invitation to attend the Duke of Cambridge Cup event later this month. It is the intention that the teams selected from this competition will compete against an Australian Schools' team in December. This is very much an invitation only event and is a significant milestone on the pathway to full international honours. Well done Becky!
