Our Junior and Senior Swim Teams had an exciting weekend competing at the Olympic Pool in London.

They were one of only a handful of schools representing the North of England at the ESSA (England Schools' Swimming Association) Championships.

Both teams gave excellence performances in the larger pool, really rising to the occasion. So much so that, using converted short to long course times, Team PBs were achieved in all three of their races.

The Junior Team competed in the Relay and Freestyle Races and the Senior Team competed in the Medley Race.

Out of 30 competing schools, finals positions saw the Junior Team placed 21st in England in the 200m medley with a time of 2:21:92 and 23rd in England in the 200m freestyle with a time of 2:06:29.

The Senior Team were placed as the 24th best team in England with a time of 2:14.61 for their 200m medley, despite being in some cases two years younger than their rivals.

Head of Sport Miss Glynn said: "The girls were fantastic. They all performed exceptionally well and made me very proud. To be swimming in the same pool as many of of their Olympic heroes is an experience they will treasure for a long time."
