Cadets were out in force completing their Silver National Navigation Award in the foothills of Snowdonia.
They managed to find ring contours, re-entrants, use catching features and attack points, and keep cheerful when the rain poured down on Sunday.
Staying overnight at Capel Curig Army Training camp they shared meal times with Royal Marines also on exercise over the weekend. The usual highlight of lunchtime in the bothy shelter was enjoyed on both days!
Girls in Year 8 have been enjoying 3 weeks of taster sessions at cadets with lots of time out in the woods, navigating, learning how to apply camouflage and taking part in team building exercises.
This has been our biggest group to try out cadets ever so we are looking forward to a number of them deciding to join us! The first treat if they do will be an invitation to a fun day of adventurous training in Delamere Forest in November, mountain biking and orienteering.
