The White Peak area of the Peak District was where our Silver DofE girls headed to for their 3 day practice expedition this Easter. The first day, in which the groups walked with their instructors, was not too kind on the weather front with rain most of the day, but the girls coped remarkably well. After a hot evening meal they retired to their tents early to rest, ready for day two. This was the first day out on their own, bringing together all their skills. Some of the first groups into camp were treated to the local ice-cream van making a detour to our campsite, a visit which was gratefully received by our girls and the other schools on the field! The last day saw some navigation challenges for some of the teams, but all arrived back at the visitors centre eventually for their debriefs before moving on to the qualifying expedition at the end of June.
