Year 12 English students enjoyed an evening of Shakespeare under the stars as part of their study of love in literature.
The 15 Sixth Formers  saw an open air production of ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ put on by the Wirral-based Hillbark Players company.
“The Hillbark productions have always had an excellent reputation and even though they are amateur the standards of performance are well up to professional standards,” said Mr Wilson, head of English, who organised the trip to Royden Park in Frankby.
“The only problem of course is the weather but we made sure all the girls had pullovers and blankets with them and we even had a supply of hot chocolate!’
‘Much Ado About Nothing’ forms part of the Love Through the Ages module on the Year 13 A2 Literature course.

The story, featuring the usual cocktail of mistaken identities, false accusations and happy reconciliations, also includes the famous warring lovers Beatrice and Benedick.
