Safer Internet Day was another opportunity for Lower School girls to be reminded and understand the importance of staying safe online.

The awareness day was embraced by the whole school with every year group focussing on age appropriate themes.

Head of Lower School, Mrs Cookson, started the week with a whole school assembly looking at the power of images online.
Reception and Year 1 used Smartie the penguin and practised a song which taught them three important messages; Before you click, you have to think, and tell somebody!

Year 2 watched a CEOP video about stranger danger online and made posters, while Year 3 watched an Internet Safety Day PowerPoint and completed an online interactive quiz.

Year 4 spent time unpacking some of the issues raised in Mrs Cookson’s assembly while Year 5 investigated online gaming and cyber bullying. Year 6 created comic strips on the iPads to convey safety messages such as the importance of password security.

All the girls showed an excellent understanding, building on the ongoing work they do in school to stay safe online.
