Queen's coders top Birmingham leader board!

A superb performance by our CyberFirst team who competed in the semi-final of the prestigious NCSC Girls' Competition in Birmingham.

Over 12,000 Year 8 girls took part in the online round of this year's competition so the team from Queen's did exceptionally well to make it through to one of the 18 semi-finals held in eight regions across the UK - all competing for a place in grand final in March.

Team Q-Cumber, Emily, Grace, Lily and Kirsten, took part in one of the Midlands semi-finals in Birmingham at the brand new PwC Building in the City Centre.  The girls got a real taste for the world of cyber security, working as a team to crack challenges relating to networking, logic and coding, cyber security and cryptography.

The team from Queen's did exceptionally well and finished the day the winners in the room - topping the leader board in Birmingham. Unfortunately they did not top the Midlands leader board so will not be progressing to the grand final on this occasion but the teamwork and skills demonstrated on the day were outstanding and we are very proud of them.
