A first class performance from Emily in Year 13 who took part in the British Schools Golf Championships at Fleetwood, Lancashire. Last year the competition was for the North of England Schools, but this year there were also students from Edinburgh, Oswestry and Suffolk, so a challenge from all the British Schools.
On the links course, there was a strong wind and eventually for the last two holes for Emily, heavy rain but she did not let that hold her back. Emily is to be congratulated on driving the ball onto the fairways in the wind and she completed the par 73 course in 82. She was placed 3rd overall –a fantastic achievement well done!
In rowing two Queen’s girls took part in Women’s Eights Head of the River Race (WEHORR) on the Thames competing against some of the top rowing clubs.
Lorna and Paige in Year 12 were in the B team for the Royal Chester Rowing Club but actually managed to beat the A team in the 6km race.
Rowing with girls from Abbeygate, Christleton and Tarporley in their boat, the girls performed well, making up 34 places on their starting position!
Congratulations also to Fenella in Year 10 who competed in a double scull event with another girl from Christleton and came 3rd in a regional selection event at Northwich.
