Medals and development opportunities for Queen's girls

Lacrosse

Huge congratulations to Anna in Year 10 on her selection as captain for the North West of England Metros Lacrosse tour to USA. This is the second consecutive time a Queen's girl has received this honour following Dakota Chamberlain's selection as tour captain in 2016.

Athletics

We saw some amazing performances from members of the athletics team at the West Cheshire Invitation Schools Cup event in Ellesmere Port. We are awaiting the official results but the girls put in an outstanding team effort!

Tennis

There was some excellent tennis on display from our Year 8 tennis players when they took on the teams from King's. The result was close with Queen's winning overall 9.5 - 8.5.

The girls also played some excellent singles and doubles tennis matches v Wilmslow in the Aegon competition this week but just lost on points.

It was our Year 7 AEGON team in action after that with matches v Fallibroome and Stockport. The girls played some superb tennis resulting in one win and one loss.

Netball

Well done to Year 10 pupil Alex on her success with Oldham Netball Club U16s who won a silver medal after a narrow defeat in the nationals.

Hana and Alicia in Year 6 had a great time at The North West Gifted and Talented Netball Day last weekend. Hana was very pleased to be awarded Coach Player or the Day, especially as the accolade was awarded to her by Northern Thunder Coach Lauren Palmer. It was the first time the event had been run and was really popular with a lot of talented young netball players there.

Rounders

Year 8 girls were victorious in their rounders match v Blacon winning comprehensively 12-0.5. Year 7 just lost out in a nail-biting finish 6.5-7.5.

22 girls from Year 6 played in two matches against Kings. Despite a lack of practice due to the recent wet weather there were some great performances and the girls learnt much from their experience. In an exciting match the A team won 11 and a half to 11. The B team lost 17-6. Well done to all players

Cross Country

Congratulations to Megan in Year 7 on winning four medals from the Cheshire Schools Cross Country Championships. Megan competed in three events at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, securing bronze in them all. She was then awarded an extra medal for overall third place.
