Volunteers from The Oaks School in Sierra Leone visited Lower School to be presented with a cheque for the money raised following their week of creativity.
In the summer term girls at The Lower School raised an outstanding £3504.04 for their partner school by holding a sponsored Musicathon and other events as part of Q-Create week.
The middle of the week brought a magical day of performance in the form of a sponsored non-stop musicathon, which began with the Big Sing led by vocal coach Ian Chesworth, included soloists, duets and ensemble performances as well as African drumming sessions in the sunshine. It ended with a music recital for parents in the evening.
Laurel Parkinson and Nic Phipps from The OAKS Charity were welcomed to the school where Subject Ambassadors for Drama, Music and the Learning Challenge Curriculum proudly helped Mrs Cookson to present the cheque in assembly.
