Sixth Form historians visited Storyhouse to listen to broadcaster Dan Snow talk about his passion for all things historical.
Dan was such an engaging speaker who was able to show tangible links between the past and the present. Most inspiring of all, perhaps, was his conviction that the teaching of history is essential in an age of fake news and rising extremism.
History teaches us to be critical of what we are told by others and encourages the examination of varied views and opinions therefore will continue to perform a vital role in both public and private life.
The girls were given much food for thought and all left wondering at how an incalculable number of historic coincidences has shaped who we are today!
