Honky Tonky Donkey

The Infant department at the Lower School was very proud to present their nativity to parents: Honky Tonky Donkey

The world’s only one-woman band donkey, is struggling with writer’s block. Looking for inspiration, she is delighted when Mary and Joseph ask her for help on their journey to Bethlehem. Surely she will find some inspiration there! And with the arrival of a newborn baby, not to mention angels, shepherds and kings, Honky Tonky soon finds she has plenty to write about.

The children worked so hard and wowed the audiences with song, dance and narration to tell this wonderful story. It was great to see such confidence, as this was the first opportunity for most of the cast, to perform on-stage to an audience.

Year 2 led the way with strong speaking parts, Year 1 joining in acting and dancing, whilst Reception class were heavenly angels, dancing beautifully to bring a tear to the eye. The Infant ‘Songbirds’ choir sang together, keeping perfect rhythm as they played percussion instruments to ‘Little Donkey’.

Complete enjoyment shone through as all of the children raised the roof with their ‘encore’ of ‘Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town’ to end the performance!
