Shropshire’s Long Mynd, near the town of Church Stretton, was the beautiful venue for our Silver D of E groups to undergo their assessed expedition over half term. Friendly wild horses were quite a feature on this trip!

All the girls were judged to have passed. Well done!

Half term also saw the Gold D of E girls set off on their four day qualifying expedition in the Elan Valley in Mid Wales. They undertook project work on land usage and a survey of the area’s bird population including the Red Kite.

The girls gathered and purified their own water and looked after each other in this remote location, several kilometres away from the nearest real toilet! Those who attended the full five days all passed with flying colours, ending a very successful year of D of E at Queen's.
