During the half term break the Spanish department took 40 Year 8 and 9 girls on a language and cultural trip to Barcelona.
The team were lucky with the weather and on their first day they were able to enjoy a lovely sunny beach walk and an afternoon of shopping in Vilanova, a small seaside town near the city of Barcelona.
The visit to the world famous Sagrada Familia was one of the highlights of the trip, and both girls and staff were astounded by the grandiosity and colour of this architectural marvel. A surprise visit to Port Aventura theme park filled the girls with excitement and made the trip a perfect balance of culture and fun!
Head of Spanish Miss Inma Ruiz said: “We are so grateful to Spanish Star who went out of their way to make our visit safe and enjoyable. As usual, the girls were the perfect ambassadors for our school, demonstrating excellent behaviour at all times, something that was recognised by Spanish Star who particularly enjoyed the singing on the coach! We enjoyed sampling traditional Spanish gastronomy, from tapas to paella and to the all-round favourite churros!”
The girls returned to the UK tired but delighted and with a wealth of experiences and stories to share with loved ones.
Your teachers are exceptional and the students clearly know that they are in the care of adults who are enthusiastic and energetic in all that they teach. The students should be whole heartedly congratulated for their polite, considerate, well mannered, caring and mature nature.
