Girls showed off a superb range of musical talents at the 2016 School Music Festival to compete for a number of prestigious trophies.

The talented musicians performed a series of pieces to a very appreciative audience with real confidence and flair. Family, friends and staff were treated to diverse ensembles, classical string arrangements, piano solos, and also stunning vocal performances.


The winners of Classes 15a, 15b and 15c competed for the James Surfleet ensemble trophy.

The adjudicators were Karen Humphreys (Head of the junior RNCM), Kathy Rundell (Director of Music at Wilmslow Prep School), and Lucy Knight (Professional Singer and teacher).

Head of Music Mrs Healey said: ''The day was a huge success with over 150 performances from girls in all years. The standard was incredibly high and we are so proud of the hard work and musicianship that the girls demonstrated.''

Year 9 pupil Scarlett Spillane added ''it was exciting performing alongside all the other years groups and taking part in the final was a really exhilarating experience.''
