Our Reception and Year 1 girls had fun in the forest at Delamere. They showed great collaboration as they joined in activities together and learnt all about woodland animal habitats. After hunting for clues and finding places where animals may be hiding, the girls learnt about the types of animals that would live there and the names for the special homes that they build. A favourite activity of the day was matching soft toy animals to their habitat in the forest.
The girls showed great resilience when building their own dens after forest ranger Vicky gave them a quick demonstration and some safety tips. They girls worked in teams and persevered to the end, just like their learning power characters: Annie Ant and Roxy Rhino. They were very proud of the final results and even wriggled inside to check the dens out for size and comfort!
