Queen's Lower School has been thanked by the Rock of Joy charity in response to a recent donation of maths textbooks.
A representative of the charity, based on The Wirral, wrote to pupils to say: "Please will you pass on my thanks to the girls and staff at the Queen’s School Junior Department for kindly donating a complete set of their old, maths text books to the Rock of Joy Schools in Uganda. We know that they’ll be well used and we’ve already had some very positive and enthusiastic feedback from the Ugandan teachers.
"Please thank all the girls in the Junior Department who helped load the books and for thinking about the children in Uganda."
Rock of Joy's mission is to advance the education, health and well-being of pupils, teachers and communities associated with three Ugandan schools. They aim to do this through providing teachers, clean water, brick buildings for classrooms, school meals, an orphanage, and large farming projects to enable self-sufficiency.
