Rehearsals are well under way for the next exciting serving from The Queen's School's Drama Department.

'Our Country's Good' by Timberlake Wertenbaker is an historic and emotional story with themes that continue to resonate today.

The story concerns a group of Royal Marines and convicts in a penal colony in New South Wales, Australia in the 1780s, who put on a production of The Recruiting Officer.

Through the process of creating the play they learn much about each other and about compassion, cooperation and creativity.

The play won the Lawrence Olivier BBC Award for the Play of the Year in 1988 when it was first shown and is regularly used as a set text for A-level Theatre Studies courses.

Tickets will be available soon from the school office.
