Girls from Lower and Senior School have been competing in athletics events with medal success.

12 girls from Year 5 and 6 took part in the AJIS athletics competition at Stanley Park in Blackpool. As usual the standard was exceptionally high with 21 schools taking part in the girls' events. Many of our girls reached the final of their event but the following girls deserve particular mention for finishing in the top 3:

Alexa  2nd in U10 hurdles
Hana  2nd in U10 rounders ball throw
Lola  2nd in U11 hurdles
Beatrice 3rd in U11 600m
U10 4 x 100m relay team 2nd (Millie, Abi, Hana, Alexa)

Twelve team members from Senior School competed in the North West Regional Schools Cup Athletics for Years 9 and 10 combined team in Warrington. The girls compete in all athletics events and score points for their performances towards a school team total.  Our team, Thea, Alice, Eve, Erin, Louise, Hollie, Leah, Imogen, Annabel, Holly, Nicole and Felicity, were placed 8th in the North West of England - A very creditable effort by all the girls!

It was the turn of the Years 7 and 8 combined team on Wednesday, who travelled to Wigan to take part in their North West Regional round of the same competition. This team were ranked 5th going into the day and because of several personal bests and very good performances they finished 3rd in the North West.

Congratulations to our team, Lowri, Ava, Esther, Amy, Isabel, Elinor, Ella, Gracie, Lucy, Yasmin, Mica and Kitty.
