A very entertaining time was had by all who entered the House Drama Competition this week. In all, 39 girls took part in 14 groups, seven of whom went through to the final.
There was a huge variety of pieces inspired by the choice of locations – funeral parlour, seaside, fairground, heaven and earthquake zone. Included was the hilariously funny (Francesca Davidson as a not-very-efficient, it-girl newscaster and Natasha Danby as a strutting starlet) and the intensely emotional (Mabel Yip as the survivor who lost her mother in an earthquake). The competition had the audience and judges, Mrs Larder, Mrs Band and Katherine Woods (Drama Captain) laughing, crying and lots in between.

The standard in the final was very high and the judges were very pleased with the use of a variety of techniques, from slow motion to flashback.

Overall winners were from Hastings: Year 10 girls, Grace Atkins (winner for second year running!!), Mabel Yip and Bella Band (Mrs Band abstained from the voting for the Y9-10 category, for reasons of fairness).
