Saturday saw a record breaking attendance of over 320 guests at The Queen's School Ball, held at Chester Racecourse.
The theme this year was 'A Journey into Narnia', so the decor for the event was wonderfully apt for the time of year. Guests were greeted with a magical journey through the wardrobe, while 'snow' gently fell around them and the tables were decorated with icy white winter branches.
Entertainment came in the form of 'The D-Day Darlings' and our Head Girl Amber Prothero, who were fabulous. Fundraising activities, led ably by Headmistress Mrs Sarah Clark and Governor Mr Nick Canning, were both great fun and highly successful. The teachers' dance led by parent Emma Laithwaite of Dancebox, was a particular highlight!
The school would like to thank the QSPA committee for all they did in preparation for the event. Special thanks go to all parents and businesses who donated gifts for the auctions and raffles, without their support it would not be possible to stage such a wonderful event. The school is particularly grateful to all parents and friends who came along and enjoyed the night.
There has already been much positive feedback after the event, which we have been delighted to receive.
Silent Auction winners are currently in the process of being contacted and monies are still being collected, so we do not yet have a confirmed total for fundraising purposes. We will announce as soon as possible.
