Memorable Moments in France

Our Year 6 girls had an incredible residential trip to France this week — an adventure full of culture and unforgettable memories.

From the moment they arrived, the girls threw themselves into the experience. Their first evening featured a fun French quiz and games, setting the tone for a week of laughter and learning. They explored a bustling local market, bought ingredients for their own picnics, and took on a high-energy game of AeroBall before learning how to make croissants with a very entertaining baker.

Sweet treats followed at a local chocolatier, where they sampled cacao nibs, and even did a bit of shopping. Another highlight was the visit to a snail farm, where they learned fascinating facts and bravely tasted snails cooked in a variety of flavours — garlic butter being the clear favourite!

The girls also visited Nausicaá Aquarium, where they enjoyed the touch pool and an exciting sea lion show. A reflective moment came at the Étaples War Memorial, followed by some enthusiastic souvenir shopping at the market. An afternoon at the beach provided the perfect chance to relax with football, gymnastics, and games in the sun.

Evenings were just as lively, especially the French-themed night where the girls dressed up, posed in a photo booth, and took part in a hilarious mini fashion show. Dinner included classic French delicacies — from escargots to chocolate eclairs!

The week ended with a lovely visit to a goat farm, complete with petting, cheese tasting, and fresh apple juice.

It was a wonderful week of discovery, friendship, and fun — one the girls will surely never forget!
