Lower School
Step through the door of the Lower School and you will immediately feel the warm embrace of certainty that every Queen’s girl is cherished for who she truly is.
Our dedicated staff ensure that learning experiences are not only inspiring but also personalised and relevant, preparing our children for the dynamic challenges of the 21st and beyond.
We understand the importance of nurturing creative, analytical problem solvers in today’s world. Our broad, holistic curriculum encourages pupils to be collaborative, but also autonomous critical thinkers. They are taught to question, reflect, and engage deeply with their learning.
Each pupil is valued as a unique individual, and we celebrate the distinctive contributions they bring to their time at Queen’s. It is the character and substance of a person which truly counts, and our exceptional pastoral care provides the guidance each girl needs to become a global citizen of the future. We help them develop the courage, resilience, and social skills necessary to blaze their own personal success stories.
No matter where our girls find themselves in the future, they will always have strong roots anchored in the Queen’s community and Chester. We help them grow and strengthen these connections through social and environmental activities, understanding the responsibility they hold as custodians of our shared heritage.
The halcyon days of childhood should be the most memorable, and at Queen’s, we strive to create the memories that matter.

Think Independently
Building intellectually curious lifelong learners.
Learning at Queen’s will very often start with a question: How do fish breathe? Where does rain go? What does brave mean? Using subject specialist teachers, we use these big questions to extend knowledge and really stretch and challenge all pupils. We will encourage your daughter to be an independent thinker from the very start.
Collaborate Confidently
Nurturing resilient leaders and collaborators.
We encourage all girls at our Lower School to have a voice from the outset by ensuring that lessons are dynamic and proactive and that our teaching staff listen well, and are nurturing and supportive in their role. All of the girls learn from a young age that their opinion counts and that they have something to contribute.
Aspire Globally
Developing character, talent and skills.
Our pupils are encouraged from the very start of their life at Queen’s to give something back to society. This underpins everything we do as we believe that it is only through helping others that we can truly know ourselves. This focus also helps to promote confidence and a wider sense of community, justice and fair play.
