Embracing Language and Culture in the French Riviera

At the end of June, 20 girls in Years 8, 9 and 10 enjoyed a fantastic trip to the French Riviera. Staying in the city centre of Nice, the girls enjoyed visiting the local surroundings.

Highlights included a walking tour of the Old Nice, strolling on the Promenade des Anglais and shopping for local produce at the famous Cours Saleya market. Our girls also took part in a two-hour French class at Alpha B Language School.

Pupils spent a day in Monaco where Chris Ingram, British and European Rally Champion, met them on their visit to the Prince’s Car Collection. They also had the privilege of visiting St Paul’s Anglican Church of Monaco, where Father Bearn told the girls about his life in the principality, beyond the glitz and glamour. Having such generous and expert local guides, who are friends from our wider school community, made the trip really special.

The trip was rounded off with a visit to the Matisse Museum and the renowned Florian confectionery. The girls had a wonderful time making memories together and embracing the French way of life.
