Always Queen's

Well, I’ve long suggested that while the Queen’s community is rooted on City Walls Road, it is not dependent on those buildings and grounds - and it seems my theory is now being put to the test!

As my teenagers (or rather ‘quaranteens’) would say, “It’s the people not the place!” Although I would respond that a place like Queen’s is the sum of its people - so in a rather linguistically convoluted way I’m back to where I started!

The people at the forefront last Friday were the Year 13 girls who found themselves propelled from students through leavers to alumni rather more quickly than expected.

It was an emotional day of course, but we are confident that the resilience and resourcefulness embedded in these young women as facets of their Queen’s education will see them through. And they’ve already been warmly welcomed into our amazing alumni community.

As they say, you can take the girl out of Queen’s, but you can never take Queen’s out of the girl!
