The Queen’s School Commemoration Service
Friday 4th May, 2pm, Chester Cathedral
Our annual Commemoration Service at Chester Cathedral is an opportunity for us to give thanks to the founders of the school and all those responsible for its continued success.
The event involves addresses from the Headmistress, an alumna and parent, as well as readings performances from the Chamber Choir and pupils.
In 2017 alumna The Reverend Dr Lesley Cooke '67, formally the Dean of Students at Chester University, spoke with humour and warmth of her time at the school in the 1960s. She acknowledged that although things may have been done differently in the past, the core values of scholarship, character and community were the same and these are the values that have stood her in good stead throughout her life.
As she summed up so eloquently, "despite everything I did to be a mediocre student, Queen's would not allow it!"
You can register for a ticket and an invitation to tea at school afterwards online.
