QSPA Annual General Meeting

Dear parents 

Notice of QSPA Annual General Meeting to be held via Zoom at 7:00pm on Wednesday 9th December 2020
 

We warmly invite all Lower and Senior School parents/guardians to join us via Zoom for The Queen’s School Parents’ Association Annual General Meeting.
 
The QSPA is a registered charity and as such is required to hold an Annual General Meeting and file an Annual Return with the Charity Commission each year.  Due to COVID-19, it was not possible to hold this in the summer term with our usual drinks reception at the Lower School, and with continuing social distancing restrictions we are not able to hold the meeting in person this year.  To comply with our reporting requirements, we are very pleased to hold this event over Zoom and to invite all parents to join the meeting to find out more about the QSPA and about its fundraising and friend-raising activities.  There is also an opportunity to participate in elections of the Trustees and officers of the QSPA. 
 
The formal business of the AGM is quite short and will start promptly at 7pm.  The meeting should last no more than 30 minutes.  The main business to be conducted includes:-

  •  review the QSPA’s activities and learn about the QSPA’s donations to the school;
  • receive the charity’s accounts for the year ended 31st December 2019;
  • Trustee election; and  
  • elect the roles of Chair, Secretary and Publicity Officer to the QSPA Events Team for the forthcoming year until the next AGM.

 
Due to the requirement to hold this meeting via Zoom and on the grounds of security, please click here to register your attendance.  A Zoom link will be emailed to you in advance of the meeting to enable you to join the meeting.  You can access the documents for the AGM, including the Agenda, the Trustees Report and Financial Accounts for 2019 and the Minutes from the last AGM here.
 
The current Events Team Chair and Publicity Officer have both indicated their willingness to stand again for re-election at the AGM, but the QSPA is actively looking to appoint a new Secretary to the Events Team.  If any parent/guardian wishes to stand for this or any of the Events Team roles, please email qspatrustees@thequeensschool.co.uk with your name and the position you wish to stand for by 5pm on Friday 4th December 2020.  If more than one person stands for any role, the appointee will be decided by election at the AGM, by means of a simple ballot on the night. No nominations will be accepted after the deadline.
