The Queen's School offers a broad extracurricular timetable at both the Lower and Senior School.
As well as group residential and outward bound activities, we offer both ‘in house’ clubs and those run by outside agencies before school, at lunchtime and after school at the Lower School. Where an agency is running the club there will be a charge for participating in the activity. We try to offer taster sessions for a wide variety of activities but do not run all activities simultaneously as pupils would be unable to take part and enjoy them in sufficient numbers. All outside agencies are carefully vetted and all staff are DBS checked before entering the school.
At the Lower School a whole host of clubs is on offer, from computing, science and yoga clubs to Taekwondo, art and Mandarin clubs. More information can be found here.
At the Senior School, whether it is astronomy, debating, women’s history, ancient Greek, embroidery or modern languages, these academic clubs are a fun way for girls to extend their learning in an informal setting, working together and learning from their peers and teachers alike.
Clubs are scheduled during lunchtime and after school and are run by teachers, Sixth Formers or girls from the Senior School who have a particular interest in a subject.
Some subjects offer top-up lunchtime sessions for girls who would like extra help with a particular subject. For example, spelling, languages and maths clinics are all available and are great support for pupils in all years.
